Investment Thesis

Resultant investment opportunity within Controlled Environment Agriculture to create a R2 billion agriculture portfolio that will:

  • Drive social dividend and commercial industrialization for communities

  • Grow Pele Group’s strategic investment in a sustainable agriculture portfolio initially with a significant minority interest 26% -49% and eventually move up the value chain into Agri=processing to enhance return of investment

  • Position Pele Group as a pioneer in the transformation of South African agriculture to become SDG aligned by a sector that is climate smart using controlled environments and drives food security

Pele Agri will go on to acquire a mixed portfolio of controlled environment agricultural assets

We are looking for investments of between 26% -49% in hydroponic, organoponic and aquaculture (aquaponic) farming; vertical farming and super food primary agriculture crop farming

Pipeline of assets currently include a mix of assets within South Africa

Our investment pipeline to date includes the following :

  • Primary agriculture - Best-in-class assets with great growth prospects located in prime producing regions across Sub-Saharan Africa

  • Kubu Group – a macadamia nuts producer and distributor

  • Tabazimbi – Stivia( sugar replacement), Maize & Soy

  • Karoo Pistachios - Nut

  • Controlled environment

  • Lettuce, spinach, basil and fish production (Aquaculture and Horticulture)

  • Lab crop development ( Microtube)
